  • Product Structure: It is composed of a steel cap, a tempered glass part, and a steel foot, which are bonded together with cement adhesive.  It usually adopts a cylindrical head structure, which is characterized by a small head size, light weight, high strength, and a large creepage distance.
  • Connection Method: The spherical insulator is connected by a ball - and - socket method, that is, the ball head is connected to the ball socket in the steel cap. To prevent the ball head from falling out of the ball socket, a "W" or "R" - shaped spring pin is added to the bottom of the ball head in the ball socket.
  • Material: It is made of tempered glass, which has the characteristics of high strength and good electrical insulation performance.

  • Main Technical Parameters: Different models of spherical disc suspension glass insulators have different technical parameters.  For example, the ANSI 52 - 11 model has a creepage distance of 280mm, a unit spacing of 156mm, a combined mechanical and electrical force of 220Kn, a dry power - frequency flashover voltage of 85kV, and a wet power - frequency flashover voltage of 95kV.
  •  Application Scope: It is mainly used in high - voltage power transmission lines, switchgear, power stations, and AC substations with a voltage of more than 1000V and a frequency of up to 100Hz, and the ambient temperature ranges from - 60 °C to + 50 °C.
