• Product Structure: It is composed of a steel cap, a tempered glass part, and a steel foot, which are bonded together with cement adhesive.  It usually adopts a cylindrical head structure, which is characterized by a small head size, light weight, high strength, and a large creepage distance.
• Connection Method: The spherical insulator is connected by a ball - and - socket method, that is, the ball head is connected to the ball socket in the steel cap. To prevent the ball head from falling out of the ball socket, a "W" or "R" - shaped spring pin is added to the bottom of the ball head in the ball socket.
• Material: It is made of tempered glass, which has the characteristics of high strength and good electrical insulation performance.
• Performance Characteristics

• Good Arc and Vibration Resistance: The new surface of the glass insulator burned by lightning is still a smooth glass body with a tempered internal stress protection layer, so it can maintain sufficient insulation and mechanical strength.
• Good Self - cleaning Performance and Aging Resistance: Glass insulators are not easy to accumulate dirt and are easy to clean.  After years of operation, their mechanical and electrical properties basically remain the same as those when they leave the factory, with no obvious aging phenomenon.
• Main Technical Parameters: Different models of spherical disc suspension glass insulators have different technical parameters.  For example, the ANSI 52 - 11 model has a creepage distance of 280mm, a unit spacing of 156mm, a combined mechanical and electrical force of 220Kn, a dry power - frequency flashover voltage of 85kV, and a wet power - frequency flashover voltage of 95kV.
•  Application Scope: It is mainly used in high - voltage power transmission lines, switchgear, power stations, and AC substations with a voltage of more than 1000V and a frequency of up to 100Hz, and the ambient temperature ranges from - 60 °C to + 50 °C.
